Tracking showers and storms returning this afternoon

TODAY: The morning starts dry with temperatures racing to the 80s by noon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms develop in western Missouri midafternoon and this activity tracks east through the evening. Up to an inch of rain is possible today and flood impacts should remain low.

TOMORROW: Rain chances linger most of Monday but there will be dry time in between. Temperatures will reach the lower 80s despite the clouds and showers.

EXTENDED: More rainfall is possible into midweek with potential influences from the remnants of tropical cyclone Beryl. This system will not be strong as it tracks across southern Missouri on Tuesday and Wednesday, but several inches of rain and flooding are possible. Late week finally dries out again with temperatures jumping back to the 90s by next weekend.
