{{zh icon}}is a template usually used to indicate to readers that an external link is in a foreign language (چین); no parameters are needed.
It should generally be placed after the external link, although this is not set in stone. For more information, seethe Manual of Style.
The template uses the{{Link language|zh}}
format, but is shortened by simply having the name{{zh icon}}
,wherezh
represents theISO 639-1language code. Please be aware thatlanguage codes do not always coincide withcountry codes (see the list ofISO 3166-1codes).
For citations, use the|language=
parameter of the various citation templates:{{cite web}}

,etc.

User-defined CSS
Logged in users can change the appearance of the template's output usingCSSwith thelanguageicon
class. For example, editSpecial:MyPage/common.cssand addspan.languageicon{font-weight:bold;}
.That would result in{{zh icon}}being displayed as(in چین)instead of (in چین).
