Sometimes disputes (disagreements) arise between users and thendispute resolutionis necessary.
Basic dispute resolution
[edit]- Talk to the user directly. Usetalk pages,be civil, polite andassume good faithif possible.
- Consider asking other users foradvice(not intervention) on how to handle the dispute.
- Try to find creative solutions or compromises that can satisfy everyone. Make sure you understandCommons' policies and guidelinesyourself, and consider whether the other person may be right.
More advanced dispute resolution

- If it's a substantial content issue that has a wider impact, considerCommons:Village pump(or other language equivalents) to settle the content issue (unless adeletion requestorcategory discussionwould be more appropriate).
