A fake Facebook page was created using the name of the MRF and was defrauding money, announced the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF).

On June 25, the official social network page of the Myanmar Rice Federation published a plan to distribute and sell Paw San Hmwe white rice through a home delivery system.

After such publication, the MRF announced that fraudsters opened fake Facebook pages, prepared and published phone numbers to make contact orders, and received money and lied about inquiries to purchase rice.

The official Facebook page of the MRF has 80 K followers and people who want to purchase rice can contact the Viber phone number listed in the plan to sell Paw San Hmwe white rice by home delivery system. Only KBZ Pay, AYA Pay and A Wallets can be used, announced the MRF.

The MRF is continuing to take legal action against fake Facebook pages and people can contact the MRF for further suggestions and questions.

Paw San Hmwe white rice will be distributed and sold through the home delivery system by the MRF in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay starting from July 1. Rice prices are 152,000 kyats per 24-basket bag of Shwe Bo Paw San, 130,000 kyats per 24-basket bag of Ayeyawady Paw San and 26,500 kyats per 5-basket bag of Ayeyawady Paw San.
