This is an improved piece of anti-submarine equipment.
It is an upgraded version of the main active sonar used by the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Type 3 Active Sonar has been improved by incorporating lessons learned in combat.
It has increased performance on several ships, particularly on destroyers of the Imperial Japanese Navy.

Indepentant of synergies, some equipment provides additionalarmor penetrationto ASW attacks. The affected equipment are: DCR:Type 95 DC,Type 2 DC,Lightweight ASW Torpedo,Hedgehog,Type 2 DC K2 DCP:RUR-4A Weapon Alpha Kai,Mk.32 ASW Torpedo (Mk.2 Thrower).
