Peter John DeLuise(born November 6, 1966) is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for his role as Officer Doug Penhall in theFoxTV series21 Jump Streetand for directing and writing episodes ofscience fictiontelevision shows, particularly in theStargatefranchise. He is the son of actorsDom DeLuiseandCarol Arthur.He is also the older brother of the fellow actorsMichael DeLuiseandDavid DeLuise.

DeLuise made his film debut in the 1979 filmHot Stuff.He appeared as Officer Doug Penhall in the 1987Foxseries21 Jump Street[2]with other promising actors includingJohnny Depp.His brotherMichaelcame on the show in the fifth season where Michael played Peter’s younger brother, Officer Joey Penhall. DeLuise is also well known for his role as Dagwood on theNBCscience fictiontelevision seriesSeaQuest DSVfrom 1994 to 1996.[3]

In 1997, he began working on the seriesStargate SG-1,serving as producer, writer, director, and creative consultant. He has appeared, normally as an extra, in every episode of the series he has directed. He went on to work as executive producer, director and writer for theStargate SG-1spin-offStargate Atlantis,and directed eight episodes of the spin-offStargate Universe.His father,Dom DeLuise,made aguest appearancein theStargate SG-1episode "Urgo", which Peter directed. Peter also made a cameo in the episode as the "Urgo" character transformed to be a young man in a United States Air Force uniform.

DeLuise directed theCBCtelevision seriesjPod,based on thenovel of the same namebyDouglas Coupland,which debuted in January 2008 and directed thefantasy filmBeyond Sherwood Forest.[4]

He made a brief cameo appearance alongsideJohnny Deppin the 2012 film adaptation,21 Jump Street.[5]Depp, DeLuise andHolly Robinsonreprised their roles as Tom Hanson, Doug Penhall and Judy Hoffs, respectively.

DeLuise was previously married toGina Nemo;they divorced in 1992.[6]He later married actressAnne Marie Loderon June 7, 2002; together they have one child.[7]
