Ambra Vallois an Italian classicalballet dancer.Born inNaples,Italy, she was a principal dancer with theBirmingham Royal Ballet.
Biography and career
editShe trained at the Royal Ballet School of Flanders. At seventeen she was invited as a guest artist byVladimir Vasilievto inaugurate the ballet season of theTeatro dell'Opera di Roma. Already soloist of theBallet royal de Wallonie and after of theRoyal Ballet of Flanders,she has been senior soloist of theEnglish National Balletsince 1993. At theRoyal Festival Hallin 1995 Vallo wasJulietand received the personal congratulations ofLady Diana.[1]
Sha danced at theMetropolitan Opera HouseofNew York Cityin a reconstruction of ballets ofFrederick Ashton
From 2001 to 2013 she was as a principal of theBirmingham Royal Balletbefore her retirement.[2]
Awards
editShe won first prize at the Luxemburg International Grand Prix, and the silver medal atHoulgate,France.
In Italy, she won prizes at Danza e Danza (Best dancer, 2004),Positano(Prize of the critic, 1991 and 2002),Rieti(gold medal).[3]In 2009, at theTeatro di San Carloof Naples, she received withFabio CannavaroandGianluigi Apontethe prize "Neapolitan excellence in the world" by the PresidentSilvio Berlusconi.[4]
