Barnabas LindarsSSF(bornFrederick Chevallier Lindars;11 June 1923 – 21 October 1991) was an EnglishNew Testamentscholar. Lindars was educated atAltrincham Grammar Schooland then studied atSt John's College, Cambridge.He was ordained as an Anglican priest in 1949.[1]After teaching at theUniversity of Cambridge(where he wasDeanofJesus College), Lindars served asRylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegesisat theUniversity of Manchesterfrom 1978 to 1990.
