The fossils of Besano
editIn 1993 thefossilof aTriassicaquaticreptiledating back to about 235 million years was found near the town. It was namedBesanosaurus.Many other fossils have emerged from thefossiliferousfield of Besano-Monte San Giorgio, known and appreciated since the mid-nineteenth century.[3]
