Bryan Edwards Sharratt(October 13, 1947 – August 16, 2007) was aUnited States NavyandAir Forceofficer, alawyer,aCertified Public Accountant,areal estatebroker,and aDemocraticpoliticianfromWyoming.After losing hisWyoming's at-large congressional districtseat in theUnited States House of RepresentativestoRichard B. "Dick" Cheneyin 1988, Sharratt campaigned forBill Clintonfor thepresidencyof the United States in 1992 and forJohn Kerryin 2004.

As theDemocraticnomineeforWyoming's lone seat in theUnited States House of Representativesin 1988, Sharratt lost to incumbentDick Cheney,later theUnited States Secretary of Defenseand theVice President of the United States.

Sharratt graduated fromDuke Universityin 1968 and then earned a J.D. degree from theDuke University School of Lawin 1971. After graduation from law school, he joined theNavy Judge Advocate General's Corps.[1]After completing his active duty commitment as aNavy lieutenant,[2]Sharratt joined theAir Force Reserve.He continued his education by receiving an M.B.A. degree from theUniversity of Wyomingin 1977. Sharratt retired from military service as an Air Forcelieutenant colonelhaving earned threeMeritorious Service Medals.[1]

After his death from heart disease,[1]Sharratt was interred atArlington National Cemeteryon November 5, 2007.[2]
