Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 26(CCL26) is a smallcytokinebelonging to the CCchemokinefamily that is also calledEotaxin-3,Macrophage inflammatory protein 4-alpha (MIP-4-alpha), Thymic stroma chemokine-1 (TSC-1), and IMAC. It is expressed by several tissues includingheart, lungandovary, and inendothelial cellsthat have been stimulated with thecytokineinterleukin 4.[1][2]CCL26 is chemotactic foreosinophilsandbasophilsand elicits its effects by binding to the cell surfacechemokine receptorCCR3.[3]This gene for chemokine is located on humanchromosome 7.[4]
