Lawrence was born and raised inLos Angeles.[1][4]She is the daughter of actressChrista Millerand television producerBill Lawrence.[5]Lawrence is the grand-niece of actressSusan Saint James.Her paternal great-great-great grandfather was the real estate mogulWilliam Van Duzer Lawrence,who was of Dutch descent.[6]She began singing as a child.[7]Lawrence attendedMarymount High Schoolin Los Angeles, where she was a member of volleyball and basketball teams.[8]
