Biography

Derryberry was born inIndio, Californiato a family of Hungarian Jewish descent. Her grandparents were Holocaust survivors.[6]After graduating fromIndio High Schoolin 1978,[1]she attended theUniversity of California, Los Angeleswhere she majored in kinesiology.[3]After college, she moved toNashvilleto become a country singer.[7]

Her first acting role was as Skeeter inHey Vern, It's Ernest!along withJim Varneyin 1988. She was also a stand in.

Derryberry is the voice of Clay in thePlayhouse Disneysegments presented in the early 2000s. In English language dubs of anime, she provided the voice ofRyo-Ohkiin theTenchi Muyoseries. She received a Best Actress in a Comedy award at theAmerican Anime Awardsfor her work as Zatch inZatch Bell!and for Chica's Magic Rainbow inFNAF World Update 2.[8][9][10]

Aside from her work as a voice actress, Derryberry worked on the 1993 filmFree Willyas the stunt double for Jesse in some shots that showedKeikowho played Willy. She has provided the voices of a series of characters, mostly those of young boys and tomboyish girls. In addition, Derryberry has also provided voice-over forIce Age: The Meltdown,as the voice ofWednesday Addamsin the 1990s animated version ofThe Addams Family,Weenie and Catrina onOswald,Taz's little brother Jake onTaz-Mania,Coco Bandicootin theCrash Bandicootvideo game series, and Clay in some Playhouse Disney segments.

She has also done voice work for comedic English language adaptations ofanimetitles such asZatch Bell!in which she plays the titular character as well as his evil twin Zeno, andRyo-Ohki,Yugi,and various other characters from several versions of the anime seriesTenchi Muyo!.
