Dwier Brown(born January 30, 1959) is an American actor. In the 1989 filmField of Dreamshe played John Kinsella,[1][2]the father ofKevin Costner's character, and he played Henry Mitchell inDennis the Menace Strikes Againin 1998. Brown has appeared in several horror films, such asHouse(1986) andThe Guardian(1990), the latter directed byWilliam Friedkin,who also directedThe Exorcist.He has also made appearances on several television series, includingFirefly,Criminal Minds,andGhost Whisperer.In 2014, he wrote a memoir titledIf You Build It...described as a book about "fathers, fate, andField of Dreams.[3]"
