На картині на передньому плані зображенобандуриста,в той час як на задньому планігайдамакивбивають двох євреїв-лихваріу лісі: одного вішають за п'яти на дереві, а другого притягють силоміць за бороду. Другий єврей-лихвар,якого спіймали у лісі гайдамаками, звертається до бандуриста: “Змилуйся, пане Мамаю, ні копійочки грошей не маю!”, а бандурист йому відповідає: “Мені твоїх грошей не треба, за таких, як ти, платять спасенієм з неба!”
English:CanvasCossack Mamayof unknown author. 19 century. Canvas, oil. 70 x 155. In the painting abandurystis depicted at the foreground, while in the backgroundHaidamakasare killing two Jews-usurersin the forest: one is being hung by his heels on a tree, while the other one is being brought in by his beard. The second Jew-usurer,who's being captured in the forest by Haidamakas, says to the banduryst: "Mercy, pan Mamay, I don't have a penny of money", to which banduryst gives an answer that "I need none of your money, for those like you, the only salvation is heaven!"
