TheGulf of Saint Euphemia(Italian:Golfo di Santa EufemiaorGolfo di Sant'Eufemia,Latin:Lametikos KolposorVibonensis Sinus[1]) is a gulf on the west coast ofCalabria,southern Italy.[2]It is part of theTyrrhenian Seaand borders theprovince of Cosenza,theprovince of Catanzaro,and theprovince of Vibo Valentia.

Geography
editThe gulf extends fromCampora San Giovanniin the north toCapo Vaticanoin the south. The riversSavuto,Amato,andAngitolaflow into the gulf. Some of the important towns and cities near the gulf includeLamezia Terme,Vibo Valentia,andTropea.The land bordering the gulf is mountainous in the north and south with a plain in the middle. A relatively narrow isthmus lies between the Gulf of Saint Euphemia and theGulf of Squillace.
