Hammer BottomorHammer Vale[1]is a hamlet in the civil parish ofBramshott and Liphook,[2]in theEast Hampshiredistrict in the county ofHampshire,England. Hammer Bottom lies at the meeting point of the counties of Hampshire,West SussexandSurrey.Nearby settlements include the town ofHaslemere,the villages ofLiphook,Bramshott,Linchmere(sometimes also spelt Lynchmere),Shottermill,Camelsdale,Critchmere,HammerandWoolmer Hill.For transport there is the B2131 road which the hamlet is nearly on and theA3 road,theA287 road,theA286 roadnearby. The nearest railway station isHaslemere railway station.It once had a beer house called the Sussex Bell.[3]The Prince of Walespub dates from the 1920s, and was listed in the 50th edition of theGood Beer Guide.[4]
