Italo Brancucci(1904, inLa Spezia– 1958, inRome) was an Italiancomposerand singing teacher. He taught at theConservatorio Arrigo BoitoinParmafor many years. Several of his pupils went on to have majoroperacareers, includingLuigi Infantino,Elvina Ramella,Ferruccio Tagliavini,andRenata Tebaldi.As a composer he is best known for his operaFiorellawhich premiered at theTeatro Lirico Giuseppe VerdiinTriesteon 30 December 1936.[citation needed]It was subsequently performed at a number of other Italian opera houses during the late 1930s, including at theTeatro RegioinParmaon 15 February 1938 withRina Corsiin the title role andFranco Lo Giudiceas Eugenio Beauharnais.[citation needed]
