Jōji Yanami(Bát nại kiến thừa nhi,Yanami Jōji,bornShigemitsu Shirato(Bạch thổ phồn mãn,Shirato Shigemitsu),August 30, 1931 – December 3, 2021)was a Japanese actor,voice actorand narrator who was affiliated withAoni Production.Some of his major voice roles included theDragon Ballanime series, which he narrated and voicedDr. Briefs,Kaiō-sama(a.k.a.King Kai or North Kaio), andBobbidi.Other major roles includedDr. Isaac GilmoreinCyborg 009;Gennai inDigimon;Ittan Momen inGeGeGe no Kitarō;Dr. YumiinMazinger Z;and numerous characters in theTime Bokanseries.

On September 25, 2015,Toei Animationannounced that Yanami would be taking medical leave fromDragon Ball Superfor an indefinite amount of time. His roles as the narrator and Kaiō-sama were passed toNaoki Tatsuta.[1]
