Jeannot Gilbert(born December 29, 1940) is a Canadian former professionalice hockeyforwardwho played 9 games in theNational Hockey Leaguefor theBoston Bruinsbetween 1963 and 1965. He also played 133 games in theWorld Hockey Associationwith theQuebec Nordiquesbetween 1973 and 1975. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1960 to 1975, was mainly spent in theAmerican Hockey League.

Playing career
editGilbert played junior with theBarrie FlyersandNiagara Falls Flyersof theOntario Hockey Associationfrom 1959 to 1961. He made his professional debut during the1960–61 season,playing one game with theKingston Frontenacsof theEastern Professional Hockey League.He spent the next two seasons with Kingston, though most of the 1961–62 season was spent with theClinton Cometsof theEastern Hockey League.On March 14, 1963, Gilbert made his NHL debut with theBoston Bruins,playing against theChicago Black Hawks.He played five games with the Bruins that season. Gilbert then played one season,1963–64 seasonwith theMinneapolis Bruinsof theCentral Professional Hockey League.
He played a further four games for Boston in1964–65,but the bulk of the season was spent with theirAmerican Hockey League(AHL) affiliate theProvidence Reds.He moved to theHershey Bearsof the AHL in 1965 and played eight seasons there. In the1967 NHL Expansion DraftGilbert was selected by thePittsburgh Penguins,but never played for them. In 1973 he joined theQuebec Nordiquesof theWorld Hockey Associationand played two seasons there before retiring in 1975.
