Juriga was born inFort Wayne, Indianaand played scholastically atWheaton North High SchoolinWheaton, Illinois.[2]He playedcollegiatelyfor theIllinois Fighting Illini,[3]where he was honored twice byUnited Press Internationalas a second-teamAll-American.[4]
Juriga was selected by theDenver Broncosin the fourth round of the1986 NFL draft.[5]He was with the Broncos for four seasons, spending the last one on injured reserve.[6][7]He started inSuper Bowl XXIVfor the Broncos.[8][9]
After he finished his football career, he obtained hisdoctor of veterinary medicinedegree fromColorado State University.[10]He lives with his wife Denise in Geneva, Illinois. His sonLukeplayed college football forWestern Michigan.[11]
