Jin Jingdao(Chinese:Kim kính đạo;pinyin:Jīn Jìngdào;Korean:김경도;born 18 November 1992) is a Chinese former professional footballer who played as amidfielder.He was later banned from football-related activities for life over allegations of match-fixing and other forms of corruption.

Club career

Jin Jingdao started his football career withYanbian FCin 2010. He made his debut for the club on 17 April 2010 in a 1–0 win againstGuangdong Sunray Cave.[1]He scored his first goal for the club on 15 May 2010 in a 2–1 win againstPudong Zobon.[2]Jin transferred toChina League OnesideShenyang Shenbeifor a fee of ¥2.3 million in January 2012.

On 27 February 2013, Jin transferred toChinese Super LeaguesideShandong Luneng(now renamedShandong Taishan). He made his debut for the club on 16 March 2013 in a 2–0 win againstChangchun Yatai.He made 18 appearances in his debut season for Shandong and won theChinese Football AssociationYoung Player of the Year award.[3]The following season he would continued to be a vital member of the team and went on to win his first piece of silverware by winning the2014 Chinese FA Cupwith them.[4]

On 8 September 2016, Jin was suspended temporarily for 60 days by theAsian Football Confederationafter testing positive for the banned substanceClenbuterolin a2016 AFC Champions Leaguematch againstFC Seoul.[5]On 4 November 2016, he received a final ban of eight months, which was reduced to three months until 8 December 2016.[6][7]

On his return, Jin would immediately establish himself back into the team and scored his first goal in the Chinese Super League in a 2–0 win againstTianjin Tedaon 9 July 2017.[8]A consistent regular within the team, he would gain his secondChinese FA Cupby winning the2020 Chinese FA CupagainstJiangsu Suning F.C.in a 2-0 victory.[9]This would be followed by his first league title with the club when he was part of the team that won the2021 Chinese Super Leaguetitle.[10]Another Chinese FA Cup would be followed up by him winning the2022 Chinese FA Cupwith them.[11]

On 10 September 2024, Chinese Football Association announced that Jin was banned from football-related activities in China for life for involving in match-fixing.[12][13][14]

International career

Jin was called up to theChinese under-20 national teamin June 2009 and was promoted to captain by the then managerSu Maozhen.He also played several matches during the2010 AFC U-19 Championship.He made his debut for theChinese national teamon 26 March 2011 in a 2–2 draw againstCosta Rica.[15]

On 30 May 2021, Jin scored his first international goal in a 7-0 win overGuamin the2022 FIFA World Cup qualification.
