Marcy Hinzmann-Simpson(born May 26, 1982) is an American former competitivepair skater.WithAaron Parchem,she is the 2006U.S. nationalsilver medalist and competed at the2006 Winter Olympics.

Personal life
editMarcy Hinzmann was born May 26, 1982, inNorman, Oklahoma,the eldest of three children.[1][2]Her mother is fromVenezuela.[1]Hinzmann is married to former NHL hockey playerTodd Simpsonand settled inKelowna, BC.[3]
Career
editHinzmann began skating at age eight.[4]As a singles skater, she was coached byCarol Heiss Jenkins.[1]After switching to pairs, she skated with Ronnie Biancosino from around 2000 to 2002 and then withSteve Hartsellfor one season.
Hinzmann teamed up withAaron Parchemin 2003. She tore theanterior cruciate ligamentin her left knee during a practice in August 2004 and skated with the injury during the season.[5][6]She underwent surgery following theU.S. Championshipsin January 2005 and was off the ice for four months.[7]
The pair won the bronze medal at the2005 U.S. Championshipsand silver in2006.They were selected to represent the United States at the2006 Winter Olympics,where they finished 13th. The pair then placed 11th at the2006 World Championships.
Hinzmann ended her competitive career on May 30, 2006, and went on to skate professionally withLee Harrison cruise ships and in gala shows.[3]She participated in the third season of the Canadian television showBattle of the Blades,partnered withTodd Simpson.[8][9]
