In 2018, Tomlin wrote the script for theProject Power(2020) forNetflix,starringJamie Foxx,Joseph Gordon-Levitt,andDominique Fishback.[4][5][6]He scripted and produced the filmLittle Fish(2021), based on a short story by Aja Gabel.[7]He gained attention in 2019 when he was brought onboard to assist withThe Batman(2022). The film would serve as arebootof theBatmanfilm franchiseand starRobert Pattinson.[8][9]The script which was completed in 2019 was submitted to Warner Bros by Matt Reeves written by Reeves, Tomlin and Peter Craig although only Reeves and Craig received credit.

By January 2020, Tomlin was writing thetelevision pilotfor an adaption of the comic book seriesFear Agent,and a film adaption of the comic book seriesMemeticforLionsgate.Both projects would be produced bySeth Rogen'sPoint Grey Pictures.[10][11]He was also writing a film adaptation of the video game characterMega Manfor Netflix.[12]In May 2020, Tomlin sold a spec script, titled2084,toParamount Pictures.[13]By September 2020, Tomlin wrote the script forMother/Android,with the intention to direct.[14][15][16]In February 2021, Tomlin was hired to write to be the showrunner for an anime series based on theTerminatorfranchise, to be produced by Netflix,Skydance,andProduction I.G,titledTerminator Zero.[17]In October 2021, Tomlin was writing the live-action film adaptation ofBRZRKR.[18]In 2021, Tomlin wrote the comic book seriesBatman: The ImposterforDC Comics,alongside artistAndrea Sorrentino[19]and with variant covers by artistLee Bermejo.[20]In August 2022, it was announced Tomlin would co-write the sequel toThe Batmanwith Matt Reeves.[21]In September 2022, it was announced that Tomlin would write a three-issue maxiseries forBoom! StudiosentitledA Vicious Circle,withLee Bermejoserving as artist, and publication beginning in December 2022.[22]In 2023, the first issue ofA Vicious Circlewas nominated for multiple Eisner awards.[23]
