Her centerfold was photographed by Tony Marco.[2]She received herbachelor's degreein 1966.[3]

Windsor was born inAkron, Ohio.She was working as an insurance rater and taking night classes at UCLA. She was going to use the money she earned posing forPlayboyto finish her degree and then attend graduate school; her goal was to get aPhDand become a teacher.[4]
A small controversy arose after her appearance inPlayboy.In a newspaper article, the university stated that they had no one by the name of "Melinda Windsor" enrolled. Readers of the magazine wrote toPlayboyasking if they had their facts straight.Playboyresponded that "Melinda" was a student at UCLA in the fall of 1965 when she posed, but was not enrolled during the winter of 1966 and that she had used a pseudonym.[5]
Windsor was photographed by Alexas Urba for the January 1967 issue ofPlayboy,[6]and by Morton Tadder for the fall 1967 issue ofVIPmagazine.[7]

editIn a 2016Akron, Ohionewspaper column in theAkron Beacon-Journal,journalist Bob Dyer requested information about Windsor, hoping to honor Akron's "mystery playmate" on the 50th anniversary of her appearance inPlayboy.[8]Her name was publicly revealed to beAnn Brockwayin the 22 December 1966Decatur Daily Review.[1]
