Early life
editBefore entering politics, Lambert studied computer science and creative arts at theUniversity of Melbourne.He also served as a non-executive director at a Labor-alignedthink tank,theChifley Research Centre,as well as a brief tenure as an associate forMcKinsey.From 2019 to 2022, Lambert served as both an assistant and executive director for theDepartment of Jobs, Precincts and Regionsin theVictorian Government.He took leave to run for the Labor party's preselection for the district of Preston.[1]
Political career
editLambert challenged incumbent MPRobin Scottfor theAustralian Labor Partycandidacy for the district ofPreston.He was supported by theShop, Distributive and Allied Employees Associationas well as other factions within the Labor party supported byDeputy Prime Minister of AustraliaRichard Marles.[2]
At the2022 Victorian state election,Lambert was elected but with a heavy swing against him from theAustralian Greensand independent candidate and former Mayor of theCity of DarebinGaetano Greco.[citation needed]
