Morrill was born atRydeon theIsle of Wightin December 1957. He later studied atLincoln College, Oxfordwhere he playedfirst-class cricketforOxford Universityin 1978 and 1979.[1]He made his debut againstKentatOxford,with Morrill making a further thirteen appearances, which in 1979 included playing against the touringSri Lankansand featuring inThe University MatchagainstCambridgeatLord's.[2]He scored 241 runs in his fourteen matches, at anaverageof 13.38 and a high score of 45.[3]With his right-armoff breakbowling, he took 12 wickets at abowling averageof 61.75 and with best figures of 3 for 53.[4]After graduating from Oxford, he became an investor with the investment company Rutland Ventures.[5]
