editPlains CDP is located in the western portion of Plains Township at41°16′24″N75°51′14″W/ 41.27333°N 75.85389°W.[4]It is bordered by the city ofWilkes-Barreto the south and theSusquehanna Riverto the west. The CDP ofHilldaleis to the north, andHudsonis to the east.
According to theUnited States Census Bureau,the CDP has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.3 km2), all land.[5]It is served by Exit 3 on the NorthCross Valley Expressway(Pennsylvania Route 309).
