Thepudendal arteriesare a group of arteries which supply many of the muscles and organs of the pelvic cavity. The arteries include theinternal pudendal artery,thesuperficial external pudendal artery,and thedeep external pudendal artery.
The internal pudendal artery branches off theinternal iliac artery,the main artery of thepelvis,and supplies blood to thesex organs.[1]The internal pudendal artery gives rise to theperineal artery[2]and the inferior rectal artery.[1]
The superficial external pudendal artery arises from the medial side of thefemoral artery.It supplies the malescrotumand the femalelabia majora.[3]
