TheRavensberg Basin(German:Ravensberger Mulde) orRavensberg Hills(Ravensberger Hügelland) is anatural regionin thegovernorate of Detmold(Ostwestfalen-Lippe) in the northeastern part of the German state ofNorth Rhine-Westphalia;small elements also fall within the neighbouring state ofLower Saxony.It is part of the lowerWeser Uplandsand includes the hilly basin country between theWiehen Hillsin the north,Lippe Uplandsin the east,Teutoburg Forestin the south andOsnabrück Hillsin the west. The heart of the Ravensberg Basin is almost coincident with the cultural region of theRavensberg Land.
