Reimerswaal(Dutch pronunciation:[ˌrɛimərsˈʋaːl] ) is amunicipalityin the province ofZeelandin the southwesternNetherlandsonZuid-Beveland,named after thelost city.The municipality had a population of 22,896 in 2021, and has a surface area of 242.42 km2(93.60 sq mi) of which 140.62 km2(54.29 sq mi) is water. The central townYersekeis known for trade inmusselsandoysters.Kruiningenis known for the formerferryfrom Kruiningen toPerkpolderwhich was in service up to 2003. The municipality of Reimerswaal was established in 1970, from the aggregation of the municipalitiesKrabbendijke,Kruiningen,Rilland-Bath,Waarde,andYerseke.

The municipal coat of arms(nl)dates to 1970. The sword in a red field is derived from the coat of arms of thelost city of Reimerswaalin use in the 15th century (Beyeren Armorialp. 107) ofgules two swords inverted saltirewise argent and or.In addition, the municipal coat of arms shows the comital arms ofWittelsbach-Hainautin chief.
