Rex Ogle(born 1979 or 1980)[1]is an American author and editor who has published more than 100 books, including those written under various pseudonyms, such asTrey King,Honest Lee,andRey Terciero.In addition to writing and editing forDC ComicsandMarvel Comics,[2]Ogle has written a number of graphic novels and memoirs, includingFree Lunch.

Biography

Ogle was born and raised in Texas with his mother and younger brother,[3]as well as his mother's boyfriend and later his stepfather.[4]He experienced poverty and domestic violence as a child,[1][2]which he discusses in his graphic memoirFree Lunch.[5]In the book, he also discusses his lifelong experiences with depression, anxiety and panic attacks.[6]

At age 18, Oglecame outto his parents and was immediately kicked out of his family home, after which he moved toNew Orleansbecause he thought, "If I’m going to be homeless, I might as well be homeless somewhere cool."[1]After a short while, he moved in with his grandmother, then eventually moved toNew York City,[1]where he interned withMarvel Comics.[7]

In addition to Marvel, Ogle has served as editor withDC Comics,[6]Scholastic,andLittle, Brown Young Readers.[8]While editing with Little, Brown Young Readers, he worked withNeil Patrick Harrison his debut children's book,TheMagic Misfits.[6][9]

As of 2020, Ogle lived inLos Angeleswith his husband.[10]
