Ria Lina(born 1987)[a]is a British comedian, actress and writer. Early and personal life

Lina's mother is from thePhilippinesand her father fromGermany.[6]She attended an American school in theNetherlandsfrom the age of 14.[6]Subsequently, she earned a BSc in pathology from theUniversity of St Andrews,an MSc in forensic science fromLondon South Bank Universityand a PhD in virology fromUniversity College London.[7]

Lina has three children.[8][failed verification]Divorced, Lina and her ex-husband continue to share their London household as of 2024.[9]She isautistic,[10]something she only became aware of in adulthood.[11]

In 2003, Lina was a runner-up at the firstFunny WomenAwards.[12]

Lina has taken five shows to theEdinburgh Festival Fringe.School of Riason[13]was nominated for the Amused Moose Laughter Awards, and contained one of Dave's Top 10 Jokes of the Fringe, and was later broadcast onBBC Radio 4in 2016. Lina'sDear Daughter[14]won the Best Comedy award at the Greater Manchester Fringe. Her other shows includeTaboo Raider,[15]Thpethial[16]andIt's Not Easy Being Yellow.[17]
