Siraya National Scenic Area

Siraya National Scenic Area(Chinese:Tây lạp nhã quốc gia phong cảnh khu;pinyin:Xīlāyǎ Guójiā Fēngjǐng Qū) is the newest ofTaiwan'snational scenic areas.It was designated by the central government of theRepublic of Chinaon 26 November 2005.

The scenic area is named after theSiraya people,an indigenous ethnic group that populated this region until well into the 18th century, and whose descendants have intermarried withHan Chinese.[1]

The scenic area covers 13 districts/townships: 12 inTainan Cityand one,Dapu,inChiayi County.

Among the area's attractions areZengwun Dam,Wusanto Reservoir,and thecoffeeplantations ofDongshan.
