In 817, he was made Count ofBrescia,Parma,Piacenza,Modena,andBergamo.He was also made amissus dominicus,along with the Brescian bishopRatald,for Italy. In 818, he was instrumental in putting down the rebellion ofBernardagainst EmperorLouis the Pious.In 822, after the abdication and death of DukeWinigis,Suppo was createdDuke of Spoletoby the grateful emperor and he passed Brescia to his sonMauring.Suppo's death was recorded byEinhardand Spoleto went toAdelard,who died within five months, leaving the duchy to Mauring.
Suppo probably had aLombardwife, for his second son was namedAdelchis.
