2005 Lake Tanganyika earthquake

The justification for adding this item was that there are few earthquakes in Africa. The intent was to give some recognition in this area (in that deadly earthquakes do happen there). This particular article is also on the small side so I didn't feel like it was one more useless item being added to an already bloated page. I did not think twice about listing a deadly and (very) high intensity shock.Dawnseeker200000:56, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

There's nothing important about the video. We don't include the first videos, articles, posts etc. of other sites on main year articles. YT is very popular, but that doesn't mean the uploading of it first video is an important international event.Jim Michael 2(talk)16:41, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

I don't think that's right. For one, YouTube isn't "other sites." It is the second-most visited site on the entire Internet, worldwide. Like it or not, the site has had an enormous impact on world events. Sure, that might not have been known in 2005, but we also didn't know in 1789 that the Constitution signed by a handful of representatives would last more than 200 years. This video is the beginning of something internationally momentous and is of general interest to those who want to know what happened in 2005.agtx16:54, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Is there nothing of significance that happened in June? Even if it's just like two or three events, I think the page is just incomplete without events from all months. I don't know, maybe I'm just being pedantic. (User:Jtayl132) 22:21, 11 August 2021
