Air's song Mike Mills refer to director/designer Mike Mills, not Mike Mills the drummer for R.E.M.

Exactly - should we include a disambiguation page or at least note on this page? Perhaps write a page for (designer) Mike Mills?--Brendotroy18:07, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)

Where did the McCartney quote come from? I can't find any corroboration.

Watertower incident?

edit

The only source I can find is a brief reference to the incident fromThe complete guide to the music of REMby Peter Hogan. The song lyrics for "Time After Time (annelise)" mention a water tower, one that the author says "may be the same one (in Athens) where Mike Mills was arrested for 'cavorting nude with a young lady' several years later.'" (p. 15) --Starling817(talk)12:53, 2 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Does anybody know what happened exactly during the so-called "watertower incident"? I think it should be described in detail for the benifit of the article.75pickup(talk·contribs)19:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced still!

edit

Come now, if I can find a fine photo of Mills like the one I just placed, and cleaned up a lot of wording and wikification, someone can figure out where he was born, not just a County in California! It's still unreferenced, and far too many trivia tidbits are still not integrated into the article! I do photos maybe 50% of the time here, and rest, I edit articles I already have committed to seeing beyond Start level. Please help these articles: if the band page is an FA article, I'm sure there's plenty of references there you can use for the bandmates inR.E.M..--Leahtwosaints(talk)21:33, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

mention of the breakup

edit

there needs to be something about R.E.M. breaking up under career, but the paragraph that was there seemed random and out of context. I didn't know about the talk page yet so I just deleted it. can someone who is a better writer than me put a new paragraph about it in?2600:8806:A304:7700:2D99:12AF:C552:F417(talk)06:47, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation page

edit

There’s more than one Mike Mills of note on Wikipedia, and we might want to make this a disambiguation page rather than have it default to R.E.M.’s bassist. Thoughts?Morganfitzp(talk)13:43, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Searching for "Mike Mills" brings up a lot of the R.E.M. guy and a lot of the director guy:https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22mike+mills%22&ia=webIt seems likely to me that the current solution matches expectations and most common name, but I'm open to someone providing data otherwise. ―Justin (koavf)TCM13:48, 13 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
