The Prince of Tennis II,known in Japan asThe New Prince of Tennis(Japanese:Tân テニスの vương tử dạng,Hepburn:Shin Tennis no Ōjisama),is a Japanesemangaseries written and illustrated byTakeshi Konomi.It is a sequel to Konomi's manga seriesThe Prince of Tennis.It has been serialized inShueisha'sshōnenmangamagazineJump Squaresince March 2009. A 13-episodeanimetelevision series adaptation was broadcast onTV Tokyofrom January to March 2012. A new anime television series titledThe Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cupaired from July to September 2022, with a sequel premiering in October 2024.

The New Prince of Tennis,written and illustrated byTakeshi Konomi,was announced byShueisha'sJump Squareon November 4, 2008.[2]The series began serialization in the magazine on March 4, 2009.[3][4]Shueisha has collected its chapters into individualtankōbonvolumes. The first volume was released on August 4, 2009.[5]As of November 1, 2024, forty-three volumes have been released.[6]

A 13-episodeanimetelevision series adaptation byProduction I.Gand M.S.C ran from January 5 to March 29, 2012.[7][a]The episodes were collected in seven DVDs, released from April 20, 2012,[9]to April 24, 2013.[10]Each DVD included a specialoriginal video animation(OVA) episode.[9][10]Crunchyrollstreamed the series.[11]

A ten-episode OVA, titledThe Prince of Tennis II OVA vs. Genius 10,was released on five DVDs from October 29, 2014,[12]to June 26, 2015.[13]The OVA has been streamed by Crunchyroll.[14]

A two-partoriginal net animation(ONA) byStudio Kaiand M.S.C,[15]titledThe Prince of Tennis II: Hyotei vs. Rikkai Game of Future,was released on February 13[16]and April 17, 2021,[17]respectively.

In April 2021,Funimationannounced that they licensed the entireThe Prince of Tennisanime franchise.[18]andThe Prince of Tennis IIwas added to their platform on August 17 of the same year.[19]

During the 20th anniversary event ofThe Prince of Tennison October 10, 2021, it was announced that a new anime television series titledThe Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cupwas being produced. The staff of theHyotei vs. Rikkai Game of FutureONA series, as well as the main cast members, reprised their roles.[20]It aired from July 7 to September 29, 2022, on TV Tokyo.[21][b]The opening theme song is "I Can Fly" by Yoshiki Ezaki and Bleecker Chrome, while the ending theme song is "Dear Friends" by TeniPri Artistars.[23]Crunchyroll has licensed the series, streaming it along with an English dub.[24]

In June 2023, a sequel to the series, subtitledU-17 World Cup Semifinal,was announced.[25]It premiered on October 3, 2024, on TV Tokyo.[26][c]The opening theme song is "Wake Up", performed by Kindella,[28]while the ending theme song is "Glanz", performed by Emblem=Adler, a unit consisting of voice actors of the anime's German team—Ryōtarō Okiayu(Kunimitsu Tezuka),Kentaro Tone(Jürgen Borisovich Volk), andMitsuki Saiga(Q.P.).[29]Crunchyroll licensed the sequel as well.[30]
