Thomas Ian Nicholas(born July 10, 1980)[1]is an American actor, filmmaker and musician. The accolades he has received include anIndependent Spirit Award,as well as aYoung Artist Awardnomination.

In film, Nicholas is best known for his lead roles as Kevin Meyers in theAmerican Pietheatrical film series(1999–2012) and Henry Rowengartner in the sports comedy filmRookie of the Year(1993). He portrayed historic figuresFrank Sinatra Jr.inStealing Sinatra(2003) andWalt DisneyinWalt Before Mickey(2015). Nicholas has also had lead roles in the filmsA Kid in King Arthur's Court(1995) andAdverse(2020), and supporting roles inHalloween: Resurrection(2002),The Rules of Attraction(2002),Please Give(2010),Bilal: A New Breed of Hero(2015), andSheep and Wolves(2016).
In television, Nicholas had recurring roles on Fox shows as Todd Marsh onParty of Five(2000) and Nick Hutchison onRed Band Society(2014–2015). He had a main role as Joe on the TubimockumentarysitcomUnderdeveloped[2](2023), and provided a lead voice dubbing role on the American version of theCartoon Networkanimated seriesGormiti Nature Unleashed(2013–2014).
Early life
editNicholas was born inLas Vegas,Nevada.His mother, Marla, was a professional dancer and an acting school administrator.[3][4]
Acting career
editNicholas is known for his roles inRookie of the Year(1993) andAmerican Pie(1999). He appeared in the four theatrical films of theAmerican Piefranchise, as Kevin Myers. He also co-starred inHalloween: Resurrection(2002), played Mitchel in theRoger Avary-directedThe Rules of Attraction(2002), and playedFrank Sinatra, Jr.in the Showtime movieStealing Sinatra(2003). In 2009, he played the role of a rookie cop in the dramaLife Is Hot in Cracktown.[5]withLara Flynn Boyle.
Nicholas played Eugene in the supporting cast ofNicole Holofcener's filmPlease Give(2010), which won the 2010Independent Spirit Robert Altman Award,given to theensemble cast.[6]He had the role ofAbbie Hoffmanin the filmThe Chicago 8(2011). He also appeared on an episode of ABC'sGrey's Anatomyas Jeremiah.[7]In 2015, Nicholas appeared inWalt Before Mickey,where he portrays a youngWalt Disneyduring the struggles of his early life and career. He was also a series regular onSteven Spielberg's TV drama seriesRed Band Society.[citation needed]
Nicholas is the lead actor in theLionsgatefilmAdverse,oppositeMickey Rourke,Sean Astin,Lou Diamond PhillipsandPenelope Ann Miller.[8][9]The film was released in February 2021.
Music career
editNicholas self-released his debut album,Without Warning,on January 15, 2008,[10]and his follow-up album, "Without Warning Acoustic" on February 28, 2009. His third release wasHeroes Are Human,put out on June 1, 2010. His fourth release is a self-titled EP, released March 20, 2012; the first single "My Generation" also appears as part of theAmerican Reunionsoundtrack album.[11]His fifth release is the EPSecurityreleased on April 8, 2014.[citation needed]
In March 2015, Nicholas appeared onBlues Traveler's albumBlow Up the Moon,co-writing the song "All the Way."[12]
On July 9, 2022, Nicholas released "1999", a single that parodied theBowling for Soupsong "1985".[13][14]
Personal life
editNicholas married Colette Marino, known asDJ Colette,in 2007.[15]The couple had their first child, a son, in 2011.[16]Their second child, a daughter, was born in April 2016.[17]In May 2022, Colette filed for divorce from Nicholas.[18]
