TheUnion for Europe(UFE) was aconservativepolitical groupthat operated in theEuropean Parliamentfrom 1995 to 1999. At its height in May 1999, it had 34MEPsand it only existed during theEuropean Parliament's 4th term.[4]

UFE was formed as a merger of two political groups, theEuropean Democratic AllianceandForza Europa.[5][6]Its members were theForza Italia(FI) ofSilvio Berlusconi,FrenchRally for the Republic(RPR), IrishFianna Fáil,PortugueseCDS – People's Party,and GreekPolitical Spring.After the1999 European Parliament election,UFE expanded into theUnion for Europe of the Nationsgroup.[7]However, parties such as FI and RPR opted to join theEuropean People's Party.[5]
