Regarding proposed deletion ofMichael D Nortonpage.

edit

Dear JonnyDKeen, that is extremely helpful constructive criticism that I will integrate into further revisions of the article, immediately!

Thank you for not being dismissive.

Norton is relatively new and upcoming as a public figure. I've been following him on social media for a while now and have communicated with him through messaging. That's probably where my own perceived bias is coming from. I've been honest about this in the choices of my connection to the subject when first uploading the article.

Any extra additions to his personal life probably came from me just watching him, which I acknowledge can be improved in the article. So, I will definitely trim down the personal life aspect and focus more on his accomplishments.

He's made innovations to AI, a device called the uRay (which has received some news coverage I haven't linked in his Wikipedia article yet). He's working on some kind of new engine that TechTimes has mentioned and Fast Company Magazine is about to.

He is self-promoting in general. He's built a personal brand with a growing social media audience. However, this Wikipedia article is genuine, written in good faith, and I am merely new.

What I can do is focus primarily on what his company, Wolven Industries, is doing. Apparently, Forbes is about to publish something on him. TechTimes and several other magazines already have, such as InsightsSuccess Magazine acknowledging him as an entrepreneurial leader of the pandemic.

I believe he is worthy of being listed on Wikipedia because his accomplishments as an entrepreneurial scientist are having and will likely continue to have a very positive aspect on society. Judging from his trajectory as public figure, I just wanted to be the first to cover him.

Rick Oginz page

edit

Hi there, I saw you reverted back my changes to the bio I had been working on for the Rick Oginz page. My intention was to make the bio more professional and concise. After my edits, an editor put a general bio guide at the top of the page (c. Fred?). My edits were to conform better to the biographical format. Would it be possible for you to revert the bio back to my last edit? And by doing this do you think an editor will end up doing the same thing again and pasting the general bio guide article to the top again? I know I’m too close to the subject, but until we find an unrelated editor I’m just trying to streamline the bio so it’s not as wordy and more objective. Thanks very much and have a good day.Benoginz(talk)23:05, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hey Benoginz! I think you may have made a mistake, as the last edits you made turned the Rick Ogniz article into an example biography featuring placeholder text and a picture of Socrates. I did post on your talk page about having reverted it. Did you realisethese were the changes you'd made?
I'm more than happy to help you streamline the bio, or whatever else you need. Just post here and I can help. But an article that's live on Wikipedia can't be left as an example page. If I were to revert to your edit, another editor would indeed come along and change it back.
Also, ping to:@C.Fred:who may understand what's going on here better than I do.MarchOfTheGreyhounds(talk)00:48, 1 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response, my last edit had the example page pinned to the top, but the actual bio with my last edits was at the very bottom as it’s own entryBenoginz(talk)03:18, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I see! Right, I'll take a proper look in the coming days, see if I can cut down the existing bio (making use of your content if appropriate) and get back to you.MarchOfTheGreyhounds(talk)23:30, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Barack Obama's tickle fight in Indonesia

edit

Hi. I've noticed that you removed the content ontickle fightarticle about Barack Obama's tickle fight he had in Indonesia. There was a source to that text published byThe Huffington Post, which is to my understanding a credible source. Here is another source byNew York Magazine, which also is credible source. So why exactly did you remove that content? Just curious, since I can't figure out why you did so. --Pek(talk)17:49, 18 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hey there, first of all thanks for being collegial and asking about my edit! Secondly, thank you for creating a new section with such an amazing heading.
I ought to have been clearer in my edit summary. The reason I removed this section was because it seemed to give undue weight to an isolated incident. Even though there are sources, this incident seems a bit gossipy; one of the sources makes no reference to tickling and the other is a bit vague. Both are lighthearted pieces too.
Looking at the article again, the entire thing is along these lines. A Wikipedia article like this shouldn't just list a few times something happened and got mentioned in the news. Instead, it needs exploration of the concept itself. Look at the references used for the articletickle tortureand see how different they are from the references intickle fight.
I don't think the subject is notable and it should likely be redirected totickling.Would you contest this or do you prefer I open an AfD discussion?MarchOfTheGreyhounds06:16, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
