Seth Weintraub

Seth Weintraubis an American journalist and engineer. Weintraub founded the 9to5 network oftech blogs:9to5Mac,[1]9to5Google,9to5Toys,DroneDJ,andElectrek.[2][3]

Education

In 1997, Weintraub earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from theUniversity of Southern California,with a minor in Multimedia and Creative Technologies.[4]In 2002, he received a master's degree fromNew York University,Tisch Interactive Telecommunications Program in 2004.[5]At that time, he was helping to manage the IT department at theNYU Medical School.[6]

9to5 network

From 2006 to 2008, Weintraub lived inParis.At the same time, he started blogging forComputerworld.[6]In 2007, Weintraub created the9to5Macblog, where he wrote aboutApple.[7][8][9]

According to the editor ofComputerworldJoyce Carpenter, Weintraub receivedNeal Awardsin 2008 and 2009 for his coverage of Apple.[10]

From 2009 to 2010, Seth Weintraub wrote forFortune Magazinecovering topics relevant to Google[11][12][13]and continued contributing forComputerworldandThe New York Times.[14]In 2010, he launched9to5GoogleaboutGoogleand9to5Toys,a gear and deals site.[15]

In 2013, he founded the news and commentary siteElectrek,which analyzes news about the transition from fossil fuel to electric transport.[16]
