Mary Gordon Murray(born November 13, 1953) is an American actress and singer. She received aTony Awardnomination forBest Actress in a Musicalfor the 1982 musical,Little Me.[2][1]

Life and career
editMurray was born inRidgewood, New Jersey.Raised in nearbyFair Lawn,she attendedImmaculate Heart Academy.[3]
She made her Broadway debut in the 1976 Broadway revival of musicalThe Robber Bridegroom.[1]She later performed in Broadway production ofGrease,I Love My Wife,Play Me a Country Song,Coastal Disturbances,Into the Woods,Footloose,Hands on a Hardbody,CabaretandThree Tall Women.Her most notable role was in the 1982 musical,Little MereceivingTony Awardnomination forBest Actress in a Musical.[1]She was in the original production ofA... My Name Is Aliceon Off-Broadway in 1983.[4]In 1991 she receivedDrama-Logue Awardfor performance inThe Most Happy Fella.[5]She is a faculty member of theAmerican Musical and Dramatic Academy.[6]
On television, Murray playedBecky Lee Abbottin the ABC daytime soap opera,One Life to Liveon regular basis from August 1979 until May 1985. Murray later made several guest appearances in 1986, 1988, 1996, 1998 and from November 15 to 19, 2001.[7]She made guest-starring appearances in television series such asKate & Allie,Matlock,Civil Wars,Melrose Place,Murder, She Wrote,Murphy Brown,The Drew Carey Show,Jack & Bobby,Cold Case,Bones,CSI: Crime Scene InvestigationandNip/Tuck.Murray had recurring roles onL.A.
