In the MotoGP class,Andrea Doviziosotook his first pole position since the2010 Japanese Grand Prix.However,Jorge Lorenzowon his second successive race,[4]but a second-place finish forMarc Márquezwas good enough for his second consecutive premier class world championship, and his fourth world title in total.[5]The podium placings were completed byValentino Rossi,who finished in third place.[4]In the supporting categories,Thomas Lüthitook his first victory since2012by winning the Moto2 race,[6]while in the Moto3 race,Álex Márqueztook advantage of a collision betweenAjo MotorsportteammatesJack MillerandDanny Kent,[7]to take his third victory of 2014.
