The2030s(pronounced "twenty-thirties" or "two thousand and thirties"; shortened to "the '30s"also known as"The Thirties") is the nextdecadein theGregorian calendarthat will begin on January 1, 2030, and end on December 31, 2039.
Plans and goals

- Some climate-related goals fromCOP26are for 2030:
- TheGlasgow Climate Pactaims to "[reduce] global carbon dioxide emissions by 55 percent by 2030 relative to the 2010 level".[3]However, based on existing pledges the emissions in the year 2030 will be 14% higher than in 2010.[4]
- More than 100 countries pledged to reversedeforestation.
- Indiaplans to draw half of its energy requirement from renewable sources.[5]
- Chinaaims to peak CO2emissions before 2030.[6]
- The 2030 Climate Target Plan of the EU aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030. TheEuropean Commissionmade proposals in July 2021 for how to achieve this goal.[7]
- Theinternational community,including theUnited Nations,World Bank,and theUnited States,have set the goal of completely eradicatingextreme povertyby 2030.[8]Noting a significant decline in extreme poverty since 1990, the World Bank has noted that the end of extreme poverty is in sight and pledged to cut it down to at most 3% of the world's population by this time.[9]
- TheWorld Health OrganizationandUNICEFhave set a goal for universal access to basic sanitation by 2030.[10]
- TheUnited Nationshas made it a goal thatInternet accessandliteracywill be universal by 2030.[11][12]
- TheWorld Bankhas called for all countries to implementuniversal health careby this time.[13]
- Transport for Londonmaking all buses electric
- Finlandplans on being a nicotineless and smokeless country by 2030.
