ANTV(abbreviation fromAndalas Televisi,stylizedantv,alternatively spelledANtevewhich was also used asbrandbefore 2003) is an Indonesianfree-to-airtelevision broadcasterbased inSouth Jakarta.It is owned byVisi Media Asia(Viva), part of theBakrie Group.

PT Cakrawala Andalas Televisi, operating asANTV,was launched on 1 January 1993 as a local television station inLampungprovince. In the same month, it was awarded a government license for nationwide broadcasting and moved its studio toJakarta.[citation needed]The first programming it produced was live coverage of the general session of thePeople's Consultative Assemblyon 1 March 1993.[citation needed]

On 29 September 2005,STAR TV(then-owned byRupert Murdoch'sfirst incarnation of News Corporation) bought a 20% stake in ANTV.[citation needed]

Along withRCTI,MNCTV,GTV,andiNews,ANTV completed the analogue switch-off on 3 November 2022. ANTV Jakarta transmitter still aired overPALservice while ANTV already turned to DVB-T2 services, and later it shut down on 4 November, after ASO ran a text on the ANTV Jakarta analogue feed.[1][2]

Sports programming

ANTV has shown the2014 FIFA World Cup,[3]Indonesian Super League[4]andLiga Indonesia Premier Division,as well asFormula Onein1997andGrand Prix motorcycle racinguntil the2001season.

Between 2015 and 2022, ANTV did not air any sports programming.

On July 16–17, 2022, ANTV aired a friendly match betweenPersija JakartavsRANS Nusantara F.C.,marking a return of sports programming to the channel.[5]andPersebayavsPSIM.[6]In September 2022, the network started airing One Pride MMA series, a local, network-ownedmixed martial artspromotion, moving fromtvOne.[7]

ANTV currently broadcast theBundesliga.
