Barbagallo won sixWestern Australian Sprintcar Championships,in 1967–68, 1972–73, 1973–74, 1977–78, 1978–79 and 1981–82. He finished second in 1965–66, 1979–80 and 1982–83.[2]He finished second behind Sydney driverGarry Rushin the 1987 WorldSprintcarChampionship at Perth'sClaremont Speedway.He also finished runner up in the 1980Australian Sprintcar ChampionshipatAdelaide'sSpeedway Park.
Wanneroo Raceway was namedBarbagallo Racewaybetween 1992 and 2020 due to Barbagallo'ssponsorship.[3]
Barbagallo sells luxury motor vehicles andboatsand employs more than 140 people.[4]
