Alma Seidler(1 June 1899 – 8 December 1977[1]) was anAustrianactress. She was member of theBurgtheaterfor over 50 years.
Biography
editAlma Seidler was born inLeoben,the daughter ofErnst Seidler von Feuchtenegg.[2]The laterBurgtheaterdirectorAlbert Heinewas her teacher and sponsor.[1]From 1918 to 1977, she was actress at the Burgtheater[3][4]and made her debut in Ibsen'sWildentein 1919.[1]Since 1960, she was honorary member of the Burgtheater.[2]She also performed at theSalzburg Festival.[2]
Seidler was married to the Burgtheater actor and directorKarl Eidlitz ,with whom she had a son.[5][6]
She died in Vienna on 8 December 1977 and is buried in a grave of honor at theVienna Central Cemetery.[4]
