Ambrella Co., Ltd.(Japanese:Hữu hạn hội xã アンブレラ,Hepburn:Yūgen gaisha Anburera)was a Japanesevideo game development companythat worked under a publishing agreement withNintendo.They were best known for making spin-off games for thePokémonvideo game franchise,particularly thePokémon Rumbleseries. Overview
editAmbrella developed theNintendo 64voice recognition game,Hey You, Pikachu!in 1998,Pokémon Channelfor theGameCubein 2003, andPokémon Dashfor theNintendo DSin 2004. Ambrella developedMy Pokémon Ranchfor theWii'sWiiWareservice, which was released in Japan on March 25, 2008, and in North America on June 9, 2008. It developedPokémon Rumblewhich was released in North America on November 16, 2009.[1]
The company developed further entries in thePokémon Rumbleseries withPokémon Rumble BlastforNintendo 3DS,Pokémon Rumble Ufor theWii U,Pokémon Rumble Worldfor the Nintendo 3DS, andPokémon Rumble Rushfor mobile devices. The most recentRumblegames were released via theNintendo eShop,and contain some variant of microtransactions;Pokémon Rumble Worlduses traditional microtransactions andPokémon Rumble UusesNFCfigurines that predateAmiibo.
On October 16, 2020, a few months afterPokémon Rumble Rushwas shut down,Creaturesannounced the acquisition of Ambrella; Creatures received all property rights and Ambrella was disbanded, with the employees then working under Creatures.[2]
