Born and raised inTexas,[6]Amp Live releasedRainydayz Remixes,an 8-track remix project ofRadiohead'sIn Rainbows,in 2008.[7]He received a cease and desist letter fromWarner/Chappell,informing him thatRainydayz Remixes"created musical arrangements/remixes" without proper approval.[8]After building an internet movement, primarily throughYouTube,StereogumandPitchfork Media,a settlement was reached and Amp Live was allowed to release the album for free.[9]It was chosen byWiredas their "Best Free Download of the Week".[10]

Amp Live released the solo album,Murder at the Discotech,in 2010.[11][12]He releasedTherapy at 3,a collaborative album withEligh,in 2011.[13]In 2014, he released the album,Headphone Concerto,onPlug Research.[14]In 2017, he released an EP, Atmosphere, onGravitas Recordings.
